Animawings has taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-300, marking the arrival of the first aircraft of this type in Romania. This addition is part of the airline’s fleet expansion strategy, which involves integrating six A220 aircraft by 2026.
The aircraft, registered YR-CHR, landed in Bucharest on December 14, 2024, after departing from the Airbus factory in Mirabel, Canada, and making a refueling stop in Keflavik, Iceland.
The Airbus A220-300 is the first of six aircraft contracted by Animawings to be delivered in phases until 2026. The airline is also expecting two Airbus A320 aircraft in early 2025, which will complement the A220 in serving domestic and international routes.
