Cathay Pacific to fly with A350-1000’s to Rome and Barcelona in summer 2019

As the deliveries for the Airbus A350-1000’s aircraft are on the streak we see an increase of carriers planning these aircraft on more routes.

The same is for Cathay Pacific which will operate the routes from Hong Kong to Rome and Barcelona with A350-1000’s starting June 2019.
The aircraft will replace this time the A350-900, so there will be some added seats taking the seasonality in the European cities.

Both flights will be operated with A350-1000XWB’s starting June 2019 until the end of the summer season, in late October 2019.

While the Barcelona flight has a 4-weekly service, the flight to Rome has a daily service to Fiumicino Airport.

Cathay’s A350-1000 carry a total of 334 passengers across its Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins, 54 more passengers more than the airline’s A350-900s.
The A350-900’s in Cathay’s fleet have also a three-class seating configuration, with 38 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy and 214 economy class seats, totaling a capacity of 280 passengers.

Cathay Pacific is the second airline to operate the new Airbus A350-1000, after launch customer Qatar Airways. The Hong-Kong based airline operates the type to destinations such as the 17-hour non-stop route to Washing D.C., the longest flight performed by any airline from Hong Kong.
