Qatar Airways and Iberia expand code-share agreement to new destinations

Qatar Airways and Iberia had announced a new code-share agreement, where flights Qatar Airways’s flights to Madrid will be marketed as Iberia flights and also Iberia’s flights to several regional and transatlantic routes will be sold also under Qatar Airways flight numbers.

This new code-share agreement between the two carriers will help both boost the number of destinations that are available for booking directly from the respective airlines, adding more connectivity to an already large destinations network.

Thus, Iberia passengers can already travel to 18 destinations in Africa, Asia, and Australia via Doha. These cities include 14 new destinations: Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore in Pakistan, Male in the Maldives, Hong Kong in China, Phuket in Thailand, Jakarta and Denpasar in Indonesia, Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam, Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

Adelaide, Melbourne, and Perth in Australia, were already included in the agreement that both companies signed last year.

Qatar Airways, which since March 2017 offered flights to 28 destinations in Spain and Portugal in codeshare operated by Iberia, may sell flights with its code on the routes of the Spanish airline to Bogota, Medellin, Montevideo, Panama, Rio de Janeiro and Santo Domingo.
