Starting 31th of March 2020 Royal Air Maroc will be an official member of the Oneworld airline alliance. The Casablanca-based carrier will be the first African continent based member of the alliance.

First news of the airline joining Oneworld was released to the press in 2018, but the joining of an airline to an alliance is a long process. Airlines have to align procedures and they should also optimize timetables in order for the whole alliance to benefit from the new routes and frequencies.
Royal Air Maroc has a fleet composed by 53 airlines. RAM is using a mixed fleet of Boeing-Embraer airplanes on the long and medium-haul routes, while the long-haul route being a Boeing 787 Dreamliner exclusive.
Oneworld is one of the three major airline alliances in the world along with Skyteam and Star Alliance. Major members of Oneworld include IAG carriers like British Airways and Iberia, Qatar Airways, American Airlines, and Qantas.
