Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has announced earlier today that it will withdraw its flight from the Romanian airport of Oradea during the winter schedule. This step back its the second in a few weeks that the Irish carrier its making in Romania, after announcing the closure of its operational base in Timișoara.
Affected by the decision are the flights from Oradea to Milano Bergamo, Memmingen, Barcelona Girona, Dusseldorf Weeze and London Stansted that will discontinue starting late October.
The representatives of Ryanair declared in the local media that their decision is coming after analyzing the commercial performances by the flights. That was also the motive that was announced after the steps back in Timișoara, the company adding at that time that there are better opportunities elsewhere.
Oradea Airports it’s a small regional Airport in the West of Romania. The airport is located in heavily dense airport location, having close the airports of Cluj Napoca, Satu Mare, Timișoara – Debrecen, and Budapest being also relatively close.
The airport will remain with its domestic flights to Bucharest, operated by TAROM and Blue Air. There will be also a seasonal domestic flight to Black Sea city of Constanța, operated by Blue Air in summer 2018.
