HiSky Introduces the Possibility to Book Flights from Tel Aviv, Cluj-Napoca and Chisinau to New York (JFK)
Passengers from Cluj Napoca and Chișinău can now reach the United States with just a short layover in Bucharest. HiSky has introduced the option for direct purchase of flights to New York from both Cluj and the capital of Moldova.
Alongside passengers from Cluj and Chișinău, the airline has introduced the option of connecting flights to the USA, under the same conditions, via Bucharest, for those departing from Tel Aviv, Israel. The connection for these passengers is available every Thursday and Sunday, with rates starting at 405 euros.
The flight schedule connecting these cities to Bucharest has been adjusted, ensuring a mere 1 hour and 10 minutes layover time, allowing passengers to reach the boarding gate for the scheduled flight Bucharest, Henri Coanda – JFK, New York. Thus, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, passengers from Western Romania and Moldova will board their flights at 6:30 am, landing in New York at 11:35 am local time, with a total travel time, including the layover, of only 12 hours.
The primary advantage for passengers choosing to travel to the United States with HiSky is the absence of risks associated with layovers, such as missed connections or lost luggage. To purchase a trip from Cluj or Chișinău with a layover in Bucharest, passengers will make a single reservation through the company’s system, ensuring the connection to the final destination and the transfer of checked baggage remain the responsibility of HiSky.
For a flight from Cluj Napoca to New York, prices start at 379 euro per leg and for the same destination, passengers departing from Chisinau will pay a starting rate of 375 euro.
“Bucharest Airport has become the main HiSky hub, however, as promised to our passengers, we aim to offer advantageous travel options for residents throughout the entire region. Last year, we introduced the convenience of connecting flights to provide access to our entire route network for passengers from Romania and Moldova. Establishing connections to the USA is a natural step, especially since we are talking about this previously inaccessible and highly anticipated destination for both the business community and tourists, as well as the diaspora. We have worked extensively to optimize the flight schedule to achieve this level of perfect coordination between connections while maintaining accessible departure times in the morning and sufficient time for transfers, without significantly extending the total travel duration. We have succeeded in creating a hassle-free experience, from booking to landing at the final destination, so that passengers do not feel significant differences between direct and connecting flights, both in terms of the ticket price and travel effort,” says Iulian Scorpan, CEO of HiSky.
HiSky’s inaugural flight to New York is scheduled for Friday, June 7th. The destination will be operated with four frequencies per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with return flights on the same days. The transatlantic flight from Bucharest will last just over 10 hours. Tickets are available for two service classes, economy and business, with a warm meal and snack included in the reservation for each passenger. Bucharest Otopeni – New York, JFK flights will be operated with a modern wide-body aircraft, the Airbus A330-200, providing passengers with the option of non-stop travel and access to multimedia content throughout the journey.
