TAROM resumed flights to Tel Aviv from Bucharest

TAROM is the first Romanian airline to resume flights to Israel and among the first three European companies to restart scheduled flights to Tel Aviv.

The first flight from Bucharest was operated on January 1st and arrived in Tel Aviv at 23:20 local time. This flight was under the command of pilot Cătălin Prunariu, the current Flight Director of TAROM.

Our mission is to connect people and to transport them safely to their chosen destinations. The atmosphere I felt in the passenger cabin on the Tel Aviv flight on January 1st spoke of resilience and reinforced my confidence in the power of each individual to contribute to what we all desire and need – peace and harmony. This flight is another step towards normality,” declares Cătălin Prunariu, TAROM’s Flight Director, who was at the helm of the first flight of the company that reconnects Romania with Israel.

The flight was operated with a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with the registration YR-BGF. The flight duration was 2 hours and 15 minutes, taking off from Bucharest Otopeni Airport at 21:03 local time and landing in Tel Aviv at 23:18.

The flight on the first day of the year 2024 marks the resumption of regular Bucharest-Tel Aviv flights by TAROM. The company aims to operate two weekly frequencies (round trips), starting from January 14th. This activity involves risk analyses applied to each flight, careful monitoring of the situation in Israel, and close communication with Israeli authorities to stabilize operations. Depending on the conclusions of the analyses applied to each flight, operational changes may occur.
