IndiGo and Turkish Airlines sign codeshare agreement

India’s largest budget airline and Turkish Airlines have recently signed a codeshare agreement.

With this cooperation, a number of around 20 flights from Istanbul will be codeshared with Indigo flight numbers and also a number of domestic Indigo flights in India will have a Turkish Airlines flight number. Additionally, all the flights between India and Turkey operated by the carriers will be again codeshared.

It is somewhat surprising that IndiGo has opted for a codeshare agreement on flights from Istanbul, since the no-frills carrier has no flights to Turkey. However, with the delivery of Airbus A321neo and Airbus A321LR aircraft flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Istanbul for the Indian carrier could be a reality.
