Wizz Air celebrates 80 million passengers on routes from Romania
Wizz Air, the fastest growing airline in Europe, celebrated at Cluj Airport a significant milestone, celebrating 80 million passengers in Romania.
This achievement highlights the airline’s strong commitment to providing enjoyable travel experiences and underscores the trust of the 80 million passengers on routes to and from Romania who have chosen Wizz Air for their journeys.
In recognition of this important accomplishment, Wizz Air rewarded the lucky passenger with the number 80 million, who traveled on a flight from Palma de Mallorca to Cluj-Napoca, with a voucher.
Wizz Air is the leading airline in Romania
Since its first flight in Romania in 2006, Wizz Air has become the leading airline in the country, operating 35 aircraft at its bases in Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Bucharest, Sibiu, Iasi, and Timisoara. Over the past 17 years, the airline’s presence has contributed to the creation of over 60,000 jobs in related industries, with an extensive network covering 75 destinations in 24 countries.
The airline continues to connect Romanian travelers to a diverse range of international destinations. Recently, Wizz Air has launched new routes, including flights from Bucharest to Luxembourg, from Brasov to London and Dortmund, as well as from Craiova to Dortmund. Additionally, the airline will begin operating flights to Tirana from Bucharest starting in October.
Through strategic investments of over 3.5 billion euros and a heightened focus on Romanian passengers, Wizz Air remains dedicated to expanding its services.
