Hainan Airlines updates the Xi’an – Los Angeles flight schedule and changes aircraft during summer

Hainan Airlines launched it’s the flight from Xi’an to Los Angeles just last week, after announcing it quite early. Because of the late launch most probably the route has not so many passengers and Hainan Airlines updated the schedule.

Until the end of February 2019 the flight will operate only once a week, with departures from Xi’an every Thursday and return from Los Angeles (LAX) the same day.
Starting March 2019 the route will see the second announced frequency operating on Mondays.

However, the schedule according to Google Flights will change once again, with flights operated from Los Angeles being operated on Tuesday and Friday, leaving LAX at 00:20. That’s just a one hour change from the previously 23:20 departure from LA.

The flight time between the two cities is about 13 hours.

Starting from March 31, 2019 the airline will operate flights from Xi’an to LAX with Boeing 787-9 aircraft instead of the firstly planned 787-8. The 787-9 has a larger seating capacity, so Hainan has to be optimistic with the passengers number on the route.
